European Foundation for Quality Management | EFQM
A comprehensive framework for assessing institutional performance, used to drive continuous improvement, innovation, and balanced, sustainable results.
The EFQM Model is a comprehensive framework developed by the European Foundation for Quality Management. It assesses and improves organizational performance by encouraging continuous improvement and innovation for balanced, lasting results. Organizations across sectors use it to reach excellence and deliver high-quality services effectively.
The EFQM Model:
- EFQM is a non-mandatory framework that helps organizations see strengths and weaknesses through a full assessment of enablers (leadership, strategy, people, partnerships, processes) and results (customers, employees, society, and financial performance).
- It is organized around three pillars: Direction (leadership, strategy, people development), Execution (partnerships, resources, processes), and Results (customer satisfaction, internal performance, social and economic outcomes).
- It encourages a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, with regular performance indicators so strategy is met and the quality of services and products rises.
- It gives a clear method for organizational change, helping institutions improve operations and capability for competitiveness and sustainability.
- Applying the model builds an integrated management system that supports transparency, accountability, and strategic planning, so stakeholder expectations are met with effectiveness and efficiency.
